Case: Kulandaisamy & Anr. vs. State Represented by Its Inspector of Police & Anr.
The Supreme Court said that High Courts are authorized to entertain Section 482 CrPC petitions at any stage, which also includes preliminary investigation before filing a charge-sheet. SC REFUSES TRANSFER OF PIL ON LIFETIME BAN FOR CONVICTED POLITICIANS
Case: Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay vs. Union of India & Anr.
The Supreme Court will not accede to hearing a Petition of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that calls for speeding up the disposal of criminal cases against the elected representative bodies.
