RAIPUR CONSUMER COMMISSION HOLDS MARUTI SUZUKI LIABLE OVER GRAND VITARA’S E20 FUEL COMPATIBILITY

Case Name: Dr. Ravindra Singh v. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. & Ors.

The Raipur District Consumer Commission directed Maruti Suzuki and its dealer to replace a Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid vehicle or compensate the owner after holding that the vehicle was not suitably compatible with E20 fuel despite its widespread availability. The Commission found deficiency in service and unfair trade practice, observing that consumers cannot be expected to bear losses arising from fuel compatibility issues.
