WHAT IS OPERATION SHIELD?
In response to rising regional tensions and recent terrorist attacks, Operation Shield was launched which is a broad civil defense operation which includes many states along the Pakistan border. The large-scale exercise aims to improve preparedness and coordination between security personnel and civilians, ensuring a quick reaction for future threats.
- Conducted in high-risk border states — Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir
- Under the aegis of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), aligned with the Civil Defence Act, 1968
