Inauguration of Additional District Court Buildings at Madurai District Court Campus

The Chief Justice of India, Surya Kant, inaugurated additional court buildings at the Madurai District Court campus under the supervision of the Madras High Court in Madurai.

During his address the CJI emphasised the indispensable role played by the district judiciary in the justice delivery system of India. He remarked that for most citizens, district courts represent the 1st & often the only interaction with the legal system. While constitutional courts  like Supreme Court of India interpret & shape legal principles, it is the district judiciary that implements the laws in the daily lives of litigants.
