Corpus delicti – It means “body of the crime” .In legal contexts, it refers to the evidence or facts that demonstrate that a crime has been committed. It’s the physical and factual elements that establish the occurrence of a criminal offense.

  • Delicti :- offense or wrong

Example – Case where a car accident occurred, The “corpus delicti” in this case would include the physical evidence such as the damaged vehicles, skid marks on the road, and any injuries sustained. These elements collectively establish that the accident took place and form the basis of the case.
