Jus Necessitatis- It means “right of necessity.” It’s a legal principle that allows individuals to take actions that would normally be considered unlawful in situations of extreme necessity to protect themselves or others from harm.

  • Jus : law or right
  • Necessitatis : necessity

Example The case of a person breaking into a building to rescue someone who is trapped inside during a fire. While breaking and entering is normally illegal, the “right of necessity” could potentially justify this action in such an emergency situation to save lives.
