SC QUASHES RJD MLC SUNIL KUMAR SINGH’S EXPULSION FROM BIHAR LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
Case: Sunil Kumar Singh v. Bihar Legislative Council & Ors.
Recently.Supreme Court held that expelling RJD MLC Sunil Kumar excessive for calling Bihar CM Nitish Kumar “Paltram”. The Supreme Court highlighted that legislative decisions are subject to judicial review. The Supreme Court also replaced the expulsion with suspension.

PETITION WAS REJECTED IN SUPREME COURT FOR PROTECTION HINDUS IN BANGLADESH
Case: Rajesh Dhanda v. Union of India Ministry of External Affairs & Ors.
Because it cannot meddle in international matters, the Supreme Court declined to consider a PIL that sought to intervene in Bangladesh’s Hindu community’s safety. After the court’s observation, the petitioner retracted the plea.

SC UPHOLDS UP GOVERNMENT STAND ON SAMBHAL WELL DISPUTE
Case: Committee of Management, Shahi Jama Masjid, Sambhal v. Hari Shankar Jain & Ors.
The UP government told the Supreme Court that a contested well close to the Shahi Jama Masjid is located on public property. It declared that the well has no religious significance, rejecting the mosque committee’s allegation.
