SC REJECTS PIL SEEKING INTERNET PRICE REGULATION

Case Name: Rajat vs. Union of India 

Giving importance to market competition, the Supreme Court rejected a PIL asking for internet price control. The bench instructed the petitioner to contact the Competition Commission of India, despite his reference to Jio’s supremacy. The right to pursue alternative legislative remedies was granted by the court.

SC DIRECTS PETITIONER TO APPROACH BCI ON AIBE FEES

Case Name: Sanyam Gandhi vs. Union of India & Anr 

Recently, the Supreme Court heard the case of a PIL challenging the ₹3,500 AIBE charge. According to the petitioner, it is against the Advocates Act. Before requesting judicial intervention, the bench instructed him to first consult the Bar Council of India.

SC WARNS RAJASTHAN OVER SMART CITY WETLAND NON-COMPLIANCE

Case Name: State of Rajasthan & Ors. vs. Ashok Malik & Ors.

Ina recent case while hearing, the apex Court warned Rajasthan for contempt proceedings for its failure to rehabilitate the wetlands in Ajmer. On March 17, the Chief Secretary must either appear before the Court via video conference or provide an affidavit attesting to compliance.
