VERDICT

Verdict: The decision of a trial jury or a judge that determines the guilt or innocence of a criminal defendant, or that determines the final outcome of a civil case.

UPHOLD

Uphold: The appellate court agrees with the lower court decision and allows it to stand.

UNDUE HARDSHIP

Undue hardship: Specified circumstances that partially or fully exempt a person  from performance of a legal obligation so as to avoid an unreasonable or disproportionate burden or obstacle.

TESTIMONY

Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before judges. (Section 118 of Indian Evidence Act)

SENTENCE

Sentence: The punishment ordered by a court for a defendant convicted of a crime. (Section 31 of Criminal Procedure Code)
