by | Dec 2, 2023

Audi Alteram Partem – It means ‘hear the other side’ or no man should be unheard i.e. both the parties have an opportunity of being heard and no will be judged without fair hearing.

  • Audi :- to listen
  • Alteram :- former or latter or other or another etc.
  • Partem :- party

Example :- This is a principle of natural justice. In the case,Stafford v Minister of Health it was held that no evidence should be received in the absence of the other party and if any such evidence is recorded then it is the duty of authority to make it available to the other party.
