RELIEF GRANTED TO A WIDOW WOMAN DISQUALIFIED FROM APPOINTMENT OVER TWO CHILDREN RULE: RAJASTHAN HC
Case Name: Sunita Dhawan vs. State of Rajasthan & Anr.
The Jaipur Bench of Rajasthan High Court, exercising its inherent powers, directed the state to grant employment to a Scheduled caste (SC) widow and mother of four who had been denied a school lecturer post despite being meritorious because of the rule that barred the appointment of individuals with more than two living children while noting that strict procedural adherence should not override constitutional provisions of equality under Article 14 and 16.

PASSPORT CANNOT BE DENIED DUE TO CONVICTION 5 YEARS AGO: KERALA HC
Case Name: Abdul Azeez K P Vs. The Regional Passport Officer, Kozhikode
The Kerala High Court ruled that under Section 6(2)(e) of the passports Act ,1967, a passport cannot be denied to a person convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude if the conviction took place five years ago before the application date and ordered the passport authority to process the application as he was convicted with three years imprisonment more than five years ago.
Legal Provisions:
- Section 6(2)(e) of the passports Act, 1967- Passport can be refused if that person is convicted during the period of five years preceding application for moral turpitude.

FIR CAN’T BE QUASHED BASED ON COMPROMISE IN CASE OF ABETMENT OF SUICIDE: PUNJAB & HARYANA HC
Case Name:Earndeep Kaur @ Irandeep Kaur and anr Vs. State of Punjab and Anr.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court dismissed the plea for quashing an FIR filed for abetting the suicide based on compromise while stating that it undermines the rule of law as the deceased victim cannot give consent , and such crimes should not be a dangerous precedent that could impact society at large.
