LAW AND GOVERNANCE
AstraZeneca’s Vaccine and India’s Response
AstraZeneca’s acknowledgment of rare blood clotting risks associated with its COVID-19 vaccine, known as Covishield in India, has stirred concern among recipients. While some fear the vaccine’s safety, medical experts highlight that such risks were already documented. In light of this, revisiting a 2022 Supreme Court judgment on vaccination policies and mandates offers valuable insights into individual rights, vaccine approval processes, and the importance of transparent adverse event reporting systems.

This reaffirms the institution of marriage as a foundational aspect of Indian society, promoting equality, dignity, and familial bonds.
Supreme Court’s Refusal to Hear Centre’s Plea on 2G Spectrum
The Supreme Court registrar’s refusal to entertain the Centre’s plea for modification in 2G spectrum allocation rules highlights procedural and substantive concerns. The Centre’s argument for executive allocation in specific sectors clashes with the 2012 verdict mandating auctions for spectrum allocation. The registrar’s dismissal, citing timing and lack of reasonable cause, underscores the need for adherence to due process and legal precedent in matters of significant public interest.
